Minecraft XP & Level Calculator
Minecraft levels get more expensive as they climb. The first levels take only a handful of points; past level 30 each one costs far more, which is why high-level enchanting takes so long.
Enter a level to see its total XP and the cost of the next one, or enter a total to find your level. You can also check the XP needed between any two levels.
How to use
- Enter a level to see its total XP and the cost of the next level.
- Or enter a total XP amount to find the level it reaches.
- Use the two-level box to find the XP between a start and target level.
- Plan your grinding or enchanting around the numbers.
Frequently asked questions
- How much XP is each level in Minecraft?
- It rises in three bands. From level 0 to 15 each level costs 2×level+7 points, from 16 to 30 it is 5×level−38, and from 31 up it is 9×level−158 — so later levels cost far more than early ones.
- How much XP do I need for level 30?
- Reaching level 30 takes 1395 total experience points from zero. That is the classic enchanting-table threshold, which is why level 30 is such a common target.
- Does XP carry over when I die?
- You drop some XP as orbs on death and lose the rest. The calculator works with the standard experience curve and does not account for death penalties or the orbs you manage to pick back up.
